About

Dalma Sarnyai is a Hungarian-born flutist based in Vienna whose artistic practice focuses on classical, contemporary and experimental repertoire. Her work explores the performative and spatial possibilities of the flute and frequently intersects with interdisciplinary formats and collaborative artistic processes.She studied concert flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) and is currently continuing her studies in the master´s programme "Neue Musik Ensemble".Dalma has been involved in projects presented at festivals such as Wien Modern and has collaborated with composers and artists from different disciplines. Her work also includes performative formats and participations in large-scale spatial music installations.She was awarded the Density2036 scholarship, founded by Claire Chase, supporting her engagement with contemporary and interdisciplinary practice.In addition to performing, she works in the fields of production and cultural organisation, connecting artistic practice with structural work behind the scenes.
